Biography
Someone described our music as "wacky, like a bebop chart shoved through a pasta machine, then doused with some soft brandy on a cool plate of well cooked scallopini!"

When I wrote a piece called Stir Crazy back in 1994 on the 4th of July, I was bored out of my scull and was literally going stir crazy. I was ill and had no plans to go celebrate independence day as I was pretty much stuck in bed. I did manage to get up and write it down as it just kept repeating itself over and over in my mind. I couldn't get a break from it. You know how annoying a melody can be when it just keeps going over and over and over in your mind. It's enough to drive you crazy. I could hear the entire composition played with sax, Hammond B3 organ, Electric piano and heavy as* guitar with some cool riffs on the bass. I guess that in my mind I was looking to fuse jazz and metal even at that time. The drummer would do some up beat stuff with awesome fills....oh if I only had the personnel at the time.

When I got better and was less delirious, I wrote the background for it and later had my good friend and sax player, Saxy Blue play it along with the keys. It was a good jam to play and played it on several gigs. We were pretty limited at the time in what we could do live as we were only a two piece using drum machines and midi background crap. Most of the places we gigged at only wanted single or two piece acts so if we wanted to survive in the club circuit, we had to adapt to what they wanted. We ended up doing pretty good in the way of gigs.

Several years ago I decided to revise it a little as it needed some attitude and still trying to create the sound I was looking for. I got together with a metal guitarist named iOD!NE from Vancouver Canada and had him do some parts on it. He was one of 25 metal guitarists able to play to progressive chords. The tune took off with a whole new feel and a new attitude. From then on I kept experimenting fusing jazz and metal knowing that the two can coexist as long as it was done properly. Mixing the two has its own problems especially since most metal players aren't accustomed to playing to progressive chords. Today the tune still contains the original sax and guitar melody created by Saxy Blue and iOD!NE left there as a thank you for the direction. The solos are different and created by Pete on sax and Chris Patterson on guitar current band members.

For many years, I kept searching for personnel that could help me create jazz/metal the way I heard it in my mind over ten years ago. Well I finally got the sound down and have the right people to do it with as you can tell from some of my recent compositions. It took me over ten years to put this band finally together.

There are now two drummers, percussionist, 3 saxes, bass, guitar, and I do keys.
